France has finally caved to Ahmadinejad. And it sounds like the Friday-prayer protests at Tehran University were fairly calm (relatively speaking—no reported deaths, few reported arrests). From the BBC:
Former Iranian President Ali Akbar Rafsanjani has called for the release of people jailed after protesting at the result of the recent election. In his first Friday sermon since the vote, he also said large numbers of Iranians still doubted its result.
Opposition supporters interrupted the sermon at Tehran University with chants of support for defeated election candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi.
Outside police fired tear gas to disperse opposition supporters.
Thousands of them rallied in streets near the university - the first large opposition demonstration for more than a week.

The most prominent known arrest—or is it kidnapping?—on Friday (via the LA Times):
Prominent lawyer, women's rights activist and journalist Shadi Sadr was arrested by plainclothes policemen on her way to Ayatollah Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani's much-anticipated Friday sermon, according to several reformist websites. The activist group blog Mothers of Laleh reported that Sadr was walking with several other female activists when she was approached by individuals in civilian dress who refused to show a warrant before forcing her into a waiting car.
Martin Amis on Iran in today's Guardian:
... what we seem to be witnessing in Iran is the first spasm of the death agony of the Islamic Republic.
Abbas Barzegar on Martin Amis on Iran in today's Guardian:
Amis obviously shouldn't take up political forecasting as a second career. Consider his phrase " … what we seem to be witnessing in Iran is the first spasm of the death agony of the Islamic Republic." But haven't we had this "first spasm" before? When the Mujahideen-e Khalq blew up the offices of the Islamic Republican party taking out the entirety of Khomeini's vanguard? Or when the old fellow finally died? Or the student protests in 1999? No, really, this is it. Rafsanjani is leading prayers alongside Mousavi — it will all be over soon.
