Some Commie Stuff

There was a time when socialists could easily make the claim that no difference existed between Democrats and Republicans. These days, it's hard to make that argument stick? Why? The two are separated by degrees of mental health. 3411/1247599330-s-bachmann-large.jpg

Republican freak show rolls on... It's hard to imagine a world where the Republican Party wins elections again.

For those wondering where Revolution Books moved after the Capitol Hill building that housed it for many years was torn down to make room for a light rail station, it's now in Pioneer Square.

Finally, the great David Harvey on the current economic mess:

You girls' favorite hobby is writing GOP obits.
You overlook the miraculous victory pulled from the bowels of defeat Obama's election represents to the GOP- Obama is a much better President for the GOP than McCain would have been.
Be sure to bring a sack to the 2012 elections, you'll need something to carry your ass home in...

RE: 'hard to imagine a world where the Republican Party wins elections again'

It's hard to believe that someone who buys Marx's long-running view of the arc of human development would write something so short-sighted. Sure, right now they're toxic, but political parties are like any other organisms. They evolve only with regard for survival, not continuity or ethics; remember, the republican party was the party of lincoln.

Maybe the last few years have shaken up things enough that the Repubs will have to reform themselves for a few years as an opposition party, but they're not nearly extinct.

and @2: your comment adds nothing new to the argument; fine, you're allowed 12 months to bitch. But after that, your party's gonna have to come up with some useful ideas for the country to stay viable.

I think we're all getting away from the real point here, which is that this Bachmann chick is totally anger-fuckable.

Sound advice #6. It could land you a part in a murder-suicide.

I visited Revolution Books this weekend with two friends, one a Red Diaper Baby (that's a lot of baggage let me tell you) and the other a self proclaimed member of the Forces of Reaction (he attends Tea Parties). We bought a LOT of vintage Chinese propaganda and had a lovely time. It was amusing however that the staff could not figure out the cash register.
