Boy, I miss long weekends in Saugatuck from my years of living in Chicago. Now, why doesn't Seattle have an analog? A small artsy town that's got a strong gay presence . . .

The P-Town of the midwest. Lots o' gays, and a lot higher priced B&Bs than the rest of the eastern shore of Lake Michigan.

If the weather has been as good on your side of Lake Michigan as it has been in Chicago this week (I go back to Michigan tomorrow), then your vacation should be very pleasant indeed - at least insofar that kids and adults alike should be able to partake of outdoor activities.
