The Seattle Channel Was Not Enough

Posted by on Mon, Jul 13, 2009 at 12:30 PM

Mayor Greg Nickels is taking his game to White House television, where he'll be appearing with Obama and other electeds at 1:00 pm. to talk about the White House Office for Urban Policy. The live feed is here.

Also today, Nickels is launching this campaign ad on local cable television, which begins with his shockingly candid admission, "As mayor, I've made my share of mistakes..." He goes on to explain that he constructed the light rail with his bare hands.

LOL, and here I thought it was a multi-county regional system that involved multiple municipalities.

But, and this part is true, he did kill the Monorail with his bare hands - you know, the system that would have carried twice as many people for half the price of the current light rail system, but wasn't the idea of the Powers That Be.

@1, and when you become a huge corporation then Nickels will start paying attention to you!!

And can anyone really watch CR Douglas kiss the mayor's ass on "Ask the Mayor" on The Seattle Channel? *UGH*

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, Monorailists.

Mayor Nickels is going to talk about how he defeated Chuck Norris in bare-knuckle boxing and used his corpse to dig the tunnel through Beacon Hill.

Twice the riders for half the price?

I can never tell if Will is a good liar, or a total airhead.

Seriously - it's idiot Trust Funders like WillinSpace who killed off the monorail.

Clowns who had nothing to lose if they screwed up: Joel Horn and Tom Weeks.

Burned through daddy's money yet, Will? You morons burned through $150 million of our money, with nothing to show for it.

Will@1,

“Twice as many people for half the price?” Get a clue. Monorail management certainly made a lot of wild-arss promises, but inexperienced as they were, even they weren’t dumb enough to make that claim.

Na, the Mayor didn’t kill the monorail – Reality killed the monorail. That, and a 2 to 1 thumbs down vote by a citizenry that had finally become feed-up with monorail lies and mismanagement.

But hey, keep drinking that Kool-Aid, just don’t expect us coffee drinkers to buy into your little monorail religion. Transportation planning in this city has already suffered enough at the hands of you monorailists; it’s time you moved on.
