@4: A compendium of today's drum "gawds" may be found at drummerworld.com. I personally enjoy Jo-Jo Mayer, although there are many who would argue that he is not quite a god, and certainly no Buddy Rich. On the other hand, most people would argue that nobody is or will ever be nearly as good as Buddy Rich. Nevertheless, a number of the drummers showcased at drummerworld.com are, at the least, minor deities.

I remember seeing this when it was on the Muppet Show, the best show ever. It makes me kind of cynical now when I see street performers doing the same thing or some rip off.
