In the wake of the seemingly endless international media blitz, you might think Sacha Baron Cohen's Bruno has been playing for months. Actually, the (wisp of a) film opens in the U.S. tomorrow.

How would you classify your current level of interest in Bruno?

You forgot one

"You will see Bruno, but will likely have to have a few drinks first to really enjoy it"

And another one: You've never seen Ali G and don't really get what all the fuss is about.

"I was already sick of Bruno when he was merely the least funny character on Da Ali G Show"

The least funny character on Da Ali G Show was Ali G.

Spoiler alert: Much less reactionary humor, much more shock value.

Talking urethra. That is all.

Media professionals should also know how to spell "Peter Sellers".

The "Feel like it's been out for months" option rings true.

Year One was the same way...I felt like I had seen the movie three times before actually seeing it.

I think there should be a rule about previews for comedies...don't show any clips or actual jokes from the movie, just make some other thing that is a promotional piece, with maybe some outtakes or other jokes.

@7 totally. I don't even own a television and I thought Bruno had already been out for months.

@7, I agree. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels had a great trailer of Martin and Caine walking down a pier (shot from behind) with them doing all kinds of "dirty rotten" things (pushing someone off a pier, stealing an ice cream cone, etc) that sold the film for me. Sure other trailers were made in the traditional "lets give away all the best bits of the film" manner, but that one was all I needed to see the film. I wish Hollywood would return to such inventive thinking. Spiderman also had a great trailer that got pulled since it relied so highly on the World Trade Center that was excellent.

Can't help but notice that almost all of your poll options were against the movie. Not really that fair of a poll is it?

I don't have cable at home so I never saw the Ali G Show when it was on air (or is it still?) but I caught a marathon while staying in a hotel once. I thought Bruno was his best character (and Borat his worst).

I'm excited about the movie, although I'll admit I'd only feel comfortable seeing it in Seattle. I wanna know that the people laughing with me are laughing with me, not laughing at the big funny homo.

And yes, I thought it was out already also. Maybe they should work harder to promote the release date.

My computer seems to think your poll is actually an ad for Travelocity. Although I'd also vote for a "needs more anal" option. Personally, I"ve been warming to the movie the more commercials I've seen; at first it looked like it'd be more offensive than funny, but now I'm not so sure about that assumption. I guess I'll have to see it for myself.

Who the fuck is Bruno?

@12: Yes! On da Ali G show, Bruno stood out because of the accurate observation of the scene but especially the accent. It was a perfect accent. Not Austria but Germany.

The pre-movie Borat hook was that the suit had never been cleaned.
