Religion Sounds Like a Plan

Pastor Joe Panaia Jr. wants a second chance...
A registered sex offender who is opening a youth center in Tea, South Dakota, says he deserves a second chance.
...but he doesn't say at what.

Now, since you can get put on the registry for peeing in public, here's what he did, according to the Sioux Falls Argus Leader:
"According to a police affidavit, Panaia was working at Good Samaritan Luther Manor in 2001 when he hugged a female coworker and showed her his genitals. He pleaded guilty to indecent exposure and was sentenced to 30 days in jail.
Another affidavit states that in 2005, while working at a McDonald’s restaurant, he fondled a new employee and asked her to perform oral sex on him. Prosecutors charged him with sexual contact without consent, but he was never indicted and the matter was dropped.
Also in 2005, Panaia admitted he failed to report family income and received an extra $6,357 in food stamps and Medicaid benefits. He spent two days in jail for social services fraud."

Sounds like he had a second chance, but he blew it in 2005. So it looks like he wants a third chance. Or a fourth. Or something.

I have the distinct misfortune of knowing this man personally. His family used to go to our church, until the pastor and leadership actually had to forbid him from coming anymore because he was preying on people there. I knew his wife pretty well. She is a sweet person but has a confused sense of loyalty and is obviously co-dependent. The person who said "that's just the stuff he was caught doing" is absolutely right. The stuff on this blog doesn't even scratch the surface of all the accusations against him. He is a pathological lier and is, not surprisingly, lying on his website about his degree, Doctrine (sic) of Divinity. Anyone with a brain can look on the website of the online school and see they do not offer a doctrate degree.
And that is The Plan. Mr. Panaia targets those who are 'down on their luck' and those who are not likely to check out his record. He is not a "Bible Thumper" but a poser, a con-artist, a lier and an abuser.
