Artnews is out with its annual list of the world's top-200 art collectors. The local reps don't much change from year to year: Paul Allen, Elizabeth and Richard Hedreen, Bill and Ruth True, Jon and Mary Shirley.
Their impact on the local scene, though, is limited, as Greg Kucera recently described during a larger discussion about the dimensions of support for Seattle artists at his gallery:
These are people who travel so they can collect, and collect so they can travel. We who are [local] dealers have never been able to survive on those seven gods and goddesses.
