Happy Slog Happy Day!

Posted by Megan Seling on Thu, Jul 9, 2009 at 11:40 AM

Slog Happy is tonight! At Captain Blacks (hold the apostrophe)! 6 pm!

There will be free books, free drinks for the unemployed (courtesy the very generous Miss Scary Tyler Moore), and a raffle for free cupcakes, tickets to the No Depression Festival, and BLOCK PARTY PASSES! That's right, I have a pair of Block Party passes to give to a very lucky Slog Happy attendee.

There will also be deep-fried cheese curds, beer, and a patio! (Please don't rain, please don't rain, please don't rain.)

See you tonight at Captain Blacks (129 Belmont Ave E)!

How long does Slog Happy usually last? I'd really like to go, and I'm flying in to Seattle tonight, but my plane doesn't land until 7.

Captain Blacks is in the same block, same side of the street as Half-Price Books - 129 Belmont near the southwest corner of Olive. No signage, but from the front it looks as if he has a big deck - with blue umbrellas. ŕ votre santé

@4 Things usually start to break up around 8 or 8:30. But if it's a nice evening, folks might hang around longer.

When will the drawing(s) take place?

I second @7's question. I won't be able to be there right at 6, as I don't get home from work until 5:30.

We'll see how long my meeting lasts. I have an appointment shortly after 5... if it's short, I may try and get up there. But don't hold your breath.

@7 & @8: We'll do the drawing around 7. That'll give everyone a chance to get there, order some drinks and food, and all that.
