News Flash: Dutch Animal-Rights Activists Loonier Than PETA!

Posted by on Wed, Jul 8, 2009 at 12:19 PM

Lightly NSFW, in a nipple-free burlesque kind of way. Also, disturbing.

Yes, women and fish are the exact same thing. It's wasteful to even have separate words for them.

Also, things like this make me have a new appreciation for the dumb but harmless sea kittens.

Thanks for the heads-up, Videogum.

It certainly gets the point across. But I can't help but think that shock tactics like this aren't going to win anyone to the cause. Once your argument is based on the suffering of animals, it's hard to win people over. Either one decides to take responsibility for this suffering or one doesn't; no amount of horror agitprop will convince them.

I'm sure sharks, birds, parasites, and other predators of fish take pains to make sure their fish die as painlessly and humanely as possible. Why can't we?

If you insist on posting even though you don't have a single original thought, you probably never will.

I don't know about that being LOONIER than PETA. PETA sets a pretty high bar for looniness. But I would agree that this comes pretty damned close.

It clearly comes from the same playbook. Shocking? Check. Titillating? Check. Completely nonsensical? Check. Will convince absolutely nobody to become vegetarian, and embarrass lots of sane vegetarians? Check.

Well done.

If you don't gut the fish right away, the quality of the flesh suffers, causing disrespect to the sacrifice the fish has made.
