Police say two men were arrested after a brawl in Westlake and another a man was treated for a gunshot wound to the buttocks after he was shot outside of a party in South Seattle in a separate incident last night.
According to police, at 10:20 p.m. last night, a group of men got into an argument at a dock in the 1800 block of Westlake Ave N after one man approached two other men and asked them to quiet down. Police say the noisy men became aggressive before the other man brandished a holstered handgun and was then attacked.
The two men knocked the other man to the ground, and kicked him in the face and head. During the scuffle, the gun discharged but didn't hit anything. Police say the gun owner sustained "extensive injuries" and was transported to Harborview. Police booked his two assailants into the King County Jail for investigation of assault.
Later that night, Police were later called to a Swedish Hospital just before 1:00 AM after a man was brought in with a gunshot wound to the buttocks.
The man told police he was at a house party near 46 Ave S and S Othello when he went outside to watch fireworks. While he was standing in the front yard of the house he was struck in the backside by a single bullet. The man went inside the house and found someone to drive him to the hospital. Police say his injuries are not life-threatening and believe the shooting was random and that the man was not targeted in the incident.
It also appears a man was shot in the 4500 block of Beach Drive SW at about 1:00 this morning, but police haven't yet provided any details.
