Crime Gay Bashing in the University District?

Slogtipper Andrew sends in this photo of a sign posted near the American Apparel on NE 45th St and University Way NE.

Of course, anybody can put up a sign—911 records do not show a medical response in the area at 2:00 AM on Wednesday—but I've got a call in to SPD and the UWPD to see if they're investigating any recent assaults in the area.

I once was propositioned in the U District around 3am. I'm pretty sure I didn't look like a whore, but I'm just glad I didn't get raped.

Lots of poor kids rarely contact the police to report crimes or even for medical attention because it causes the victims to be harassed or arrested due to warrants, drug possesion, etc. This is especially true for the young gay "street kids" around town who were abused or disowned by their families for being gay.

Also, "Unregistered Off" should be the default on Slog. Whenever I get logged out and look at Slog it's horrifying to read comments like #1 and #4.

I was just down in the U District and some guy was yelling at a rather attractive young woman in a pretty dress to ride his cock. This was at 12:45PM by Wells Fargo. The U District is so classy I am willing to bet this bashing is probably legit.

But kids, if you are bashed don't hide it; report it please. Not reporting it puts everyone at risk.
