Soul Mating

Posted by on Wed, Jul 1, 2009 at 3:57 PM

In an interview with the AP Mark Sanford said...

"I will be able to die knowing that I had met my soul mate."

"He's not talking about his wife," David Kurtz helpfully points out at TMP. Hm. The last time a Republican talked about meeting a "soul mate" who wasn't his wife it was when John McCain gave his first interview about Sarah Palin. How'd that love match work out anyway?

Oh, John McCain, you crazy fucker. As shitty as everything is right now, at least it's not October 2008.

We can forgive Sanford being an immoral cheating creep but we can't overlook what a stupid flaky asshole he is...

I'd think Sanford's story was sweet except for his inability to stop making everything worse for himself and his family. Just get a divorce, quit your job, and move to Argentina to be with your woman already! That's a love story I can get behind!

I'm sure his wife is super-delighted that he finally found the woman he loves and is announcing it to the world.

Is he still planning to try to fix his marriage? Because if he is, he's doing a great job so far.

So that's why McCain threw out wife #1? Not because she suddenly wasn't pretty enough?

Look, the main thing with Sanford is he's talking in code.

She gave him oral sex, which his wife won't.

Let's just hope he at least returned the favor ...

I don't know why I'm annoyed, but the website is TPM, not TMP... although now I want to go to EMP...

Oh my God, will this guy just go away now? Guess what Sanford: no one cares about your soul mate or how you're a big, gigantic piece of shit. Resign, get a divorce and go be with your Argentinian whorebag and leave us alone!

Well gosh darn that makes everything all right and happy. Someone never told this man, "sometimes, you need to stop while you are ahead."

According to his wife it's all the fault of gay people. If it weren't for gay people Sandra's husband wouldn't have found his soul mate in Argentina....because America is morally bankrupt. Well, maybe it makes sense in her head.

I like how much of this interview he spends talking about his feelings. "It's so hard, I'm not sure I can overcome, I think I can fall back in love with my wife..." blah blah blah... Isn't it ridiculous that this man is actually a governor, a man who lets his personal life go before his duties and whose feelings have total control over his actions? Fuck, okay, I understand, I love someone too, it's painful, I think about this person almost all the time, but if she called tomorrow I still wouldn't fail to turn up at work, and my job is very, very insignificant.
p.s. @17: Wow. Just wow. At least now I don't feel bad for not having any sympathy for her.

I can't believe this guy. How can ANYONE think it's a good idea to agonize about your personal feelings and intimate relationships in front of a hostile press? All that it says to me is that the guy is as narcissistic as they come.
