Ken Hutcherson Calls President Obama a Big Fat Liar

Posted by on Wed, Jul 1, 2009 at 2:09 PM

As the wonderful OneNewsNow reports:

A black evangelical Christian pastor and former NFL linebacker says there was "absolutely no truth in anything" President Obama said in his speech to homosexuals in the East Room of the White House Monday....Ken Hutcherson, senior pastor of Antioch Bible Church in Washington state, says it is "a shame" that the president is "supporting what destroys the family."

"I think this president has a disdain for anyone who disagrees with anything about him—don't just limit it to Christians and conservatives," [Hutcherson] remarks. "Brother, this man doesn't like anyone who doesn't think he's the smartest man in the world."

I was wondering if this would show up on Slog after I read it this morning. There's nothing like bigotry in your in box, to remind you that poverty comes in many forms.

I still want to know how gay people destroy the family.

Anyone who has been an NFL linebacker almost certainly has brain damage to some degree. Brain-damaged men make very good evangelical pastors.

Yes I agree. Obama claims to want to help families by repealing DOMA, but his actions speak otherwise and his DoJ is "supporting what destroys the family."

Oh and Mr. Hutcherson, can you please explain where the bible defines marriage as, "between one man [and] one woman, and that is the relationship, heterosexual, that is ordained, blessed, and called by God"? King Solomon called and he begs to differ. I must have received a different version than the one Jesus mailed you.

Dear Obama,

See what's happening? You're saying good things about the LGBT community, and the right hates you for it. However, you're not doing good things for the LGBT community, so the left hates you for that. The moral of this story is that bipartisanship, compromise and non-confrontationalism aren't making you any friends on either side. So why not take a firm stand, follow through with your promises, reclaim the respect of your supporters, and let idiot haters like Hutch hate (which they'd probably be doing anyway)?

Sincerely,
Hernandez

The incessant whining of Christians in general and Southern Christians in particular about immorality's saturation of our society is for a simple reason. All of these bitches and bastards are guilty as hell of what they condemn others for. The bible belt and slaves states live with more actual divorce, teen pregnancy, out of wedlock births, illicit sex and closeted gay behavior than what they think is happening on the coasts and big cities of America. Those stories about small Southern towns and their dirty secrets aren't just fiction. The snake handlers need to blame everyone other than themselves for the lives they live.

The only reason the bible belt and slave states have teen pregnancy is because they don't kill their mistakes they give birth to them, and their divorce rate is higher because they get married, unlike homosexuals who have an average of 35+ partners in their lifetime. So you don't get married or divorced, but multiple partners is ok???? and good for children how???

What is all of this hatred getting any of you? I am not a supporter of homosexual behavior, but i am a supporter of homosexuals. I love people, humanity, not because of their sexual orientation. I do not want to be forced to look at a homosexual individual as a group but as a human being grappling with something. (i know it is not packaged this way exactly, but it is no less a struggle, no matter which way you are looking at it) _ I realize the easiest way at times is not to fight any struggles that any of us have. We don't want to fight gluttony, hedonism, lust of the flesh lust of the eyes, why? because that is what our flesh likes and it's easier to let it happen, at least in the moment. If you don't subscribe to G-d as your creator and Christ as your redeemer, you don't have the reason to view promiscuity, homosexuality, or animal or other perverse types of sex as something to fight against, ....or do you? How much of this destroys each of us? Is it right because it's in the Bible, or in the Bible because it's right? Even if you don't believe in G-d. All people struggle with lusts it's all over the news all the time and how indulging in them doesn't lead to satisfaction but an insatiable appetite for more more more until we are Fat, sick, drunk, high, lost our famiies, lost our jobs, lost our communities, lost self control. I believe the best way to test our life's direction is to really look at the end..what do you want your epithat to say? I was a righteous fighter for homosexual rights, or I was a righteous fighter for homosexual lives? Incidentally, it seems a growing and untrue sentiment propogated by the media that evangelical Christians are the haters toward homosexual people. In my life, I have only witnessed love poured out, grace extended to my homosexual brothers and sisters, not because the sexual choice is approved or disapproved, but because they are sons and daughters and brothers and sisters and friends - people. I personally know and many I don't that have championed the broken and hurting, dying with aids, drug abuse, and loneliness I have also witnessed them lovingly told that practicing that life is a sin and leads to self destruction, not because of hate, but love. NO one has been called to HATE the people they may disagree with. NO one has cast anyone off the Island! Yes you are right, the folks in the Bible Belt, and well beyond are all sinners, of all different types, all guilty and they will probably be the first to tell you so....that is why we ALL need a savior. But if we sometimes fall short of the standards, do we change them? Imagine what would happen if we did this for education or law....Gosh everyone is murdering so lets make it legal? Doesn't work my friends , doesn't work. It also doesn't mean, that love doesn't abound, and grace and Mercy. Each person has to work it out in their own individual life, as they are able. Im sorry if my thoughts are all over here, but I wanted to share something... mainly, that i love each person out there, and it hurts so much to here such profanity spewed toward good people that are standing up for what they believe is right...that right belongs to each of us individuals on all sides of the issues so as it is debated and voted on, can we be civil and respectful and responsible for our own hateful comments? Opinion is not hate, but spewing at the people with the opinion is.

God will bring Hutch home on God's own terms. Christians don't dislike or hate homosexuality, but God does. It's clearly stated in the Bible that homosexuality is a sin; this doesn't mean God doesn't love homosexuals, it just means that he defines it as sin. As all sins, if one doesn't repent and start living by the Word, then they shall never see the pearly gates of heaven but will be thrown into the everlasting lake of fire. This comment is not to start an argument or to judge, but rather to encourage all of you to read the Bible so that you may learn the truth about what God wants from us and what he considers to be sin...let him who has not sinned cast the first stone. For we are all sinners, and need to repent if we ever want to reach heaven; judging others is in fact wrong, but informing others of what the Bible says is not judging, it is informing and spreading the Gospel. Why is that people get so offended when someone tells them about the Bible and God's commandments? Are they willing to turn their back on God and live the life 'they choose as fit' even at the risk of having their soul eternally suffer in Hell? For those who don't think Hell is a real or bad place, or don't believe that God would ever send anyone there, you should read "23 Minutes in Hell". I found this book enlightening, as well as eye-opening to what waits for us after this short life here on earth.

Ken Hutcherson is a true Man of God. The Bible does say that God loves the sinner but hates their sin. Homosexuality is a sin. It is the sin that we hate not the people. We are all Gods creation. I have known Ken most of my life and have watched him give his all for others. It has noting to do with money. I guess the people out there who hate him, don't have God in their lives and they let Satan rule. Satan is evil and loves sin. I also don't support Obama, he has done nothing but lie to the people, cheat and steal. But in the end it is God who has ultimate control not Obama. His sins will catch up to him.

What do you expect from someone who's friends with Rush Limbaugh and puts down the people in his own race? Homosexuality doesn't destroy the family, ignorant people like Hutch destroys the family. If someone wants to be homosexual, it's their choice! Also, doesn't the bible say,"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"? So Mr., you have no right to try to put anyone in their place. I'd like to see you run the country. Obama is doing a phenomenal job with what he's been given. You can't expect him to fix everything in the snap of a finger, he's not God. He's trying his hardest to fix what Bush did, and it's haters like Hutch holding him back from achieving what he's setting out to do.

I see some mention hate, I do not think Brother Ken hates anyone. He is a Christian and he reads the Bible and the Bible says in Leviticus 18: 22“‘Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.23“‘Do not have sexual relations with an animal and defile yourself with it. A woman must not present herself to an animal to have sexual relations with it; that is a perversion.
Ken is just saying as a Christian he doesn't believe in homosexual sex. God loves all people. A sin is a sin is a sin. God says don't kill and don't cheat also. Would we condone our friend if they were super nice and wonderful but their only vice was to kill homeless folks in their spare time? Course not - killing is a sin and God says for man to have sexual relations w/ a man is a sin and for a woman to have sexual relations with a woman is sin. God's plan is for us to have man to woman relations in the sanctity of marriage and to produce children. We need to approach all in love, mercy and forgiveness. It is not our place to judge - but is is also not our place to condone what God has forbidden

I do the same thing. There are people that are white that I put down. It is amazing the way people like to filter their opinions through hate. It is amazing that God puts up with any of us. Amazing love. Amazing grace. EVERYONE will have to answer for what we have done to each other. I would not want to be in anyone's shoes who was thinking they were ok and was going to be fine on their own works. God so loved the WORLD He gave His only begotten son. That who so ever would believe on him would not parish but have eternal life. Eternal life is not living forever. EVERYONE will live somewhere forever. Eternal life is a personal relationship with God. The amazing love is where God Gave his son for even the people who curse Him and say they do not believe He is real. Amazing Love. An amazing God.

@ Cato the Younger Younger: Whatever your opinion in the matter is or however much you hate a person, that is the most immature and stupid thing I've ever heard of in my life. How would you like it if you had cancer and I hoped your death every winking second of my life? That's just not cool at all. I hope you someday grow up and learn to simply disagree with people or rant on them without such sarcastic remarks about such serious life and death issues. He isn't hoping gays die - he is simply stating his political and religious views into the public just as all Americans have the right to do so. Hoping someone dies of cancer because of that is just stupid.

Obama may not be moving fast enough for some within the LGBT community, however he's making congress to do the work. Since Congress put DOMA in place as well as DADT they are the folks that need to repeal it. Oh sure Obama can go in and sign executive orders left and right, but what good will that do? Nothing, the next administration can reverse those executive orders. Obama is dancing the Washington DC Two Step, give him time and support him as needs to have allies on both sides of the isle in order to get anything done.
