Five events tonight.
There's a rare-ish poetry reading at Third Place Books. Angela Sorby is the author of Bird Skin Coat, a collection of poems about the Upper Midwest and the Pacific Northwest.
Gregory A. Wilson reads at University Book Store. His book The Third Sign is "in the tradition of J.R.R. Tolkien and Robert Jordan," which probably means that it is very thick.
The Raven Chronicles, which is a local litmag, is having an anniversary/release party tonight, too. This is the Architecture In Literature issue. I hope they have an essay about Howard Roark.

Down in Pioneer Square, a Muslim, a Christian, and a Jew walk into Elliott Bay Book Company and read from their new book Out of Darkness Into Light: Spiritual Guidance in the Quran with Reflections from Christian and Jewish Sources. I'm not sure if hilarity will ensue or not.
And Carlos Ruiz Zafón reads at the Central Library. The Shadow of the Wind is one of those books I've never read, but lots of people I like. His new one, The Angel's Game, is about an unreliable narrator who works as a reporter and a pulp novelist.
Zafón and the Raven Chronicles are battling it out for reading of the night. You'll have to decide for yourself.
The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.
