too mad to spell right, sorry & mea culpa.

we've got over 50 votes right now, but it's not enough because of the dumb senate rules that the democrats do nothing to change.

very irritating to not live in a democracy. especially when there is a popular delusion, that we do, and that if 72% of our people want something that somehow means the legislative process will enact it.

Maybe we should take Rush Limbaugh's advice and stop being active. That way we won't sprain ankles or tear cartilage or break arms and therein overtax the health care industry. Maybe.

@2 - there is already a workaround for that.

The solution is so easy it's being over looked. Allow insurance companies to do business in all 50 states. Now for example WA only allows 5 or 6 companies to sell health insurance here. The Gov want's to be player number 7 or so here and force the others to lower their prices. I do not think that is role of government. Let the businesses compete against each other. The Gov can make sure no one cheats and that consumers are protected, as they do with Car/Home/other insurances. Seems easy to me. Am I not seeing the big picture?

@6: The big picture is that without competition from government and / or heavy regulation, the insurance companies will compete with each other but still fuck you six ways from Sunday.

@1:

I think it's the part where we get pissed when they take all of our money for premiums and then drop our coverage at the first indication we might actually need it that they don't get.
