Film

'Away We Go'

Away We Go is a movie about a pregnant woman (Maya Rudolph) and her boyfriend (John Krasinski) traveling from city to city to find a new home and wrestling with the eternal question: "Are we fuckups?" They visit other couples who employ varying methods of parenting, from hippie doltishness to alcoholic ignorance, all the while trying to figure out how best to treat their child and each other. If you've ever wondered how to live without doing harm to the world, this film will move you. (See Movie Times: thestranger.com/film.)

So, this film isn't some aimless piece of shit like Garden State was?

Cato the Younger Younger 2
I would go to see John "Super Hoy Guy" Krasinski, but his beard is a turn off.

Will in Seattle 4
Me, I'm skipping movies Tuesday, and catching the new Woody Allen movie and then Cherie at early previews instead.

Both will be way more fun than this - even if I think that Maya is a great actress.

The last 1/3 of this film was OK. I fucking hated the first 2/3 of it, which was basically Rudolph and Krasinski doing reaction shots to horrible caricatures of horrible people. I think there's a real strain of misanthropy in Sam Mendes' work, and I'm going to go out of my way to avoid his films after this.
