God rest his soul. It's sad to see someone live the last two years of his life having to work so he doesn't have to lose his home.

As long as he brings his giant Publishers Clearing House check to the pearly gates he'll be fine.

Foreclosed? Kind of disrespectful, hmm? Or is there a joke here I'm not getting....

Yes, @6, there's a joke you're not getting: His multi-million-dollar house has been in danger of being foreclosed on for at least the last year or so. For a guy who made bazillions of dollars, it seems he spent his entire life dealing with the wolves at the door.

The second-best talkshow sidekick ever (after the immortal Hank Kingsley, who was more than a little modeled after him) has gone. Once again I am saddened by the news obituary habit of using recent, decrepit pictures to commemorate him rather than the older ones showing the vibrant man we remember.

Bummer. I remember when he sent me $250 when I was 12, which I deposited in a tiny credit union in Kaslo, BC.

It was a lot of money for me at the time.

(yes, I know, it wasn't him personally, but when you're 12 that's how it feels)
