John Hodgman, at the recent Radio and Television Correspondents Association dinner in D.C., got right to the central question about Barack Obama: Is he now, or has he ever been, a nerd?

Enjoyable, but I thought he could have done a lot more with the questions--truly engaging Obama with a series of legitimate questions designed to actually test and display Obama's level of nerd cred. for the viewer, rather than toss off a couple of severely arcane and unanswerable questions.

@9, one man's severely arcane is another man's common knowledge. I knew the answer to all of those questions, and I don't consider myself a fanatic type of nerd.

yikes, when is the media going to stop hosting these group wank-offs commemorating how great they are for all their hard work facilitating the ascendancy of bush II, failing to question the rationale for iraq, and not calling torture torture? thought comedians were supposed to speak truth to power, not just stand up and make jokes about how big a nerd they are (which by the way is PLAYED)
