Famous Last Words

How far in advance does the NYT Magazine go to press again?

"They were saying this three years ago, that I couldn't last, and after four years, I'm better than I ever was. This irritates me, no? I'm tired of people telling me I can't go on playing tennis like this."

But Nadal couldn't go on—at least for now. But we Nadalists have faith that Rafael will be back.

Well, I'm not a Nadalist, but I can acknowledge fine bone structure, and those are some damn fine cheek bones.

Don't forget the shoulders. Or the sexy confidence-bordering on-arrogance.

Good article. The paper edition went to press on friday (which is mentioned in a postscript), but it was published online by wednesday if not earlier. He'd withdrawn from the warmup tournaments at that point but hadn't yet lost the tuneups to Hewitt and Wawrinka.

Too bad - the rematch would have been fun to watch, after last year's amazing final.

Federer (and Murray, and a bunch of others) must be a little happier about their chances.

Happy Father's Day, Dan!

It's a ridiculous holiday, but if anyone deserves it, you do.

ZOMG, the pics of those biceps (and calves) in the NYT mag were almost enough to convert this atheist to Nadalism.

I'm gutted, GUTTED! After Nadal won the Australian Open earlier this year, I was convinced he would win a grand slam this year while stopping Federer from getting his own career grand slam.

I blame it on the Neo-Cons. They don't want anyone who voted for Obama to be happy. Yep. It's true. I know people.... who talk....at Swingers doo-dahs. Yes.

Although I almost always root for Nadal, I was happy to see Federer win a career grand slam, the guy's a great player and he deserves it.
I hope Nadal can rest up enough to win the U.S. Open to get his own career slam. Both Federer and Nadal getting career slams in the same year would be pretty amazing!

Unfortunately, I am a Federerist, no one is perfect isn'it?
I hope a swift and quick recovery for Nadal and many more succeesses to Roger.
