Chow When Is a Taco Truck Not a Taco Truck?

When it doesn't move, like Tako Truk, a landlocked "taco truck" from former Sitka & Spruce chef Cormac Mahoney, run out of the 14 Carrot Cafe on Eastlake on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. This guy over here (who admits he's an old friend of Cormac's partner-in-Tako-Truk Bryan) says it's great, especially the braised pork tacos ("inspired"), the octopus, and the chicken adobo. If you're smart, you'll have your tacos with a beer at the Eastlake Zoo. Note: Tako Truk is cash only (the man in the fannypack takes your money). And in the customer service department, they Twitter 86'd notices when they run out of something.

tako truk is the best for eastlakers who feel a lack of QUALITY cheap food in the area. i ate there last night :) the tamales are garnished with pineapple. simply marvelous!

Doug, are you aware that "tako" is the romanization of the word "octopus" in Japanese? "Truk," well… there's no excuse for that. Agreed, stupid.

So - this place has four menu items, and you don't even mention the one that doesn't cause 100% of bird/swine flu, 100% of e.coli, 18% of global warming, and 39% of human cancer.

Did The Stranger hire you to help cause terrible stories so the Morning News will get more hits? Are you behind DOMA too?
