For what it's worth (nothing) I believe the tattoo artist.

I believe the tattoo artist as well. I have over 20 hours worth of tattoo work myself, have talked with many a tattooed person, including artists and they all say the same things:

"No one has ever fallen asleep on me" - Tattoo artists

"People are lying when they say it doesn't hurt" - Tattooed people and tattoo artist's alike.

I think you'd have to have one of those rare medical conditions where you don't have any nerve connections to not feel 56 stars being tattooed all over your face. Or on serious drugs.

I believe the tattoo artist.

That said, how dumb do you have to be to cover your face in tweety?

Nobody *sober* falls asleep while getting a tattoo.

I believe the artist too.

A. Not likely that someone would fall asleep, especially while getting a tattoo on her face.

B. How long does it take to do 3 small star tattoos? Not that long. Probably not long enough to fall asleep if you're lying there, unless you have narcolepsy.

C. Wouldn't the artist and the girl have settled on the cost of the tattoo before hand? Wouldn't they have had to talk about what the tattoo would look like to determine cost?

I bet she was high. Or, that she really did want 56 stars, but regretted it once she/her father saw it.

@8 and D.) Most legitimate Tattoo joints have you sign a contract that says that they are not responsible if you don't like the tattoo at the end of the process.

I bet that daddy got mad and she panicked and pretended like it wasn't her idea. Plus the tattoo artist as a picture of her with the stars on her face right after the tattoo, does she look displeased? If I had just gotten my face covered with 53 more stars than I requested I would be fucking bawling and would sure as hell not let him take my picture.

Why would the tattoo artist spend his time and ink adding fifty-three extra stars when she claims she paid for three? That makes about as much sense as falling asleep in the hair salon and waking with a cut, colour and perm when you booked and paid for a trim.

More like she caught hell from her parental unit and now she's trying to pass the blame.

Why would you get small black stars on your face in any number? They look like melanoma.

@9 you make a good point about the after-tattoo picture. I put the probability of her version of things being the truth at about 5%.

I like the tattoo. It probably does look like she got splattered with mud on the side of her face from a distance . i also think kelly o needs a coverup for her tweety bird.

Wow. I have a tattoo, and I can't imagine falling asleep during the process. That and the fact that she allowed herself to be photographed for his artist portfolio, suggests we aren't hearing the complete story.

I have one large tattoo. I've known lots of people who have had tattoos. There is no way on earth that you can convince me that this girl slept through getting 50+ stars tattooed on her face. No way in hell. She is lying because her parents freaked.

I have the best tattoos in the world, and they hurt like fucking hell each and every time. She didn't fall asleep. She's a lying little bitch who should be denied any laser treatment. Deal with your stupidity, cunt. A man would make no such mistake.

I have stars on my arm that are very similar to the ones on her face. I have seven of them. It took about 10 minutes for the tattoo artist to do them. And she was just getting three? That would take 10 minutes tops, and she fell asleep?

Bullshit, little girl, bullshit.

Rhett Oracle 23
Having "a face only a mother could love" surely fits the tattoo artist - wonder if his mother would even recognize him? I suspect he dribbles a lot through all of those holes. The girl: probably a creature with low self esteem - "I think I'll have leather-like stars appliquéd to my face to make it appear as if I have designer Kaposi's sarcoma."

That is just Fail. There's no way a tattooist would do more then they were asked. Firstly, because it's a waste of their time and supplies, and secondly, because they'll get sued.

@23, they only look "leather-like" right now because the skin is still puffy and inflamed from the recent inking. I do think the tattoo will always look weird from a distance, but once the swelling goes down it won't look so bad as it does now. The family was smart to get all this media coverage of her while her face is still fighting the tattoo...

I agree with everyone who think she's lying.

That tattoo needs some light pink and blue shading around and between the stars.

Besides that, I have fallen asleep while getting a tattoo, but it was on my arm, and I fell asleep because the area had gone numb. I still new what was going on, I was just exhausted from having just worked a 14-hour shift.

That said, there's no way in hell I could fall asleep and not notice my face being tattooed. Ridiculous.

wench 27
Honestly, she should have just admitted that she wanted the stars to start out with. They'll look fine when the initial swelling goes down. Not buying for a minute that it wasn't what she asked for.

It's costly signaling. Just like a balding middle-aged man with a red sports car or a peacock displays a massive array of bright tail feathers, this tattoo tells you something important about the owner. In this case it says, "Prone to really bad judgement: do not date."
