A Bone for the White Supremacists

Posted by on Thu, Jun 18, 2009 at 9:57 AM

This piece of information is just for you, white supremacist! Here is the link even! Put your nose into it and enjoy!

One in four men in South Africa may have raped someone - with most of those attacking more than one victim, data from a new survey suggests.

The study, by the country's Medical Research Council, also found three out of four who admitted rape attacked for the first time while in their teens.

It said practices such as gang rape were common because they were considered a form of male bonding.

A professor links the problem to this:

And it's partly rooted in our incredibly disturbed past and the way that South African men over the centuries have been socialised into forms of masculinity that are predicated on the idea of being strong and tough and the use of force to assert dominance and control over women, as well as other men.

But I see this sort thing as stemming all the way back to the terrifying warrior society that dominated the region in the early parts of the 19th century. Even in my family there is a memory of the "infecane," the time of misery and suffering generated by the Zulu war machine.

Rape can not be dissociated with military power. An example of this connection can be found here, at home:

A congresswoman said Thursday that her "jaw dropped" when military doctors told her that four in 10 women at a veterans hospital reported being sexually assaulted while in the military.
Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach said she was raped by a fellow Marine. A Marine has been charged in her death.

Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach said she was raped by a fellow Marine. A Marine has been charged in her death.

A government report indicates that the numbers could be even higher.

Rep. Jane Harman, D-California, spoke before a House panel investigating the way the military handles reports of sexual assault.

She said she recently visited a Veterans Affairs hospital in the Los Angeles area, where women told her horror stories of being raped in the military.

"My jaw dropped when the doctors told me that 41 percent of the female veterans seen there say they were victims of sexual assault while serving in the military," said Harman, who has long sought better protection of women in the military.

And let's not forget Steven Dale Green and his gang. Enough! Let me stop there. I do not want to spoil the joy of the white supremacists with counter or matching information.

Ug! Humans are pretty shitacular sometimes. I've always thought rape was a worse crime than murder. At least when someone's dead their suffering is over. With rape, the victim might suffer from it for decades afterwards... that's terribly cruel.

Rapists should have their balls lopped off.

@2 The world is NOT a binary system. Lots of choices.

Grow up or get out....

Jesus.... it smells like somebody just stirred a pot of shit.

You know, for the sake of stirring a pot of shit.

Bravo, Mr. Mudede. Fine work.

Can you link to articles with graphic descriptions next time? Or better yet, articles with photos.

Ask Dan for advice.

It is nothing unique to blacks but it is a fact that 90% of Africa's problems relate to the fact that the males are predatory animals. No stable social structure will survive until that is addressed.

I see your point Charles. Yes, it would be easy to blame the rape epidemic in South Africa on "legacy of Apartheid" (this is the panacea for any problem in South Africa) but in this case I agree that there is a lot more at play.

Good Morning Charles,
I am not abosulutely convinced that "rape" is necessarily associated with "military power". But, it does happen. The greatest mass rape in human history occurred when the Soviet Union invaded the Eastern European Nazi-occupied countries in 1945. I more or less agree with you and @8. However, I do believe it (rape) is far more complex and its effects on the victim(s) can widely vary. I noticed the study used the word "suggested". So, more needs to be discussed.

I spent some time visiting South African youth detention facilities and was pretty shocked at how many kids, many as young as 11 or 12, were in there for rape. There is something wrong going on over there.

Are your comments, and the report you reference about rape in the US military, a bone to the black supremacists?

There is one very important and twisted piece of South Africa stats that this missing from this report.

As recently as this past year, several high-profile leaders in South Africa and in other African nations have advocating rapes as a way to prevent and/or cure AIDS. This ‘practice’ varies from rape of a white women or lesbian or virgin or even a baby.

Although this disturbing and hateful justification seems completely ludicrous it is not just fringe groups that advocate this practice. Many people within the governments (including judges) basically turn a blind eye to the ‘practice’. Some have even been quoted as believing it.

Although I agree that warrior behaviour is the root cause, the justifications seem to be the catalyst for the epidemic.

4 Agree with you, chemical castration could be another option too.

I have to wonder tho how many of those rapes are being committed by white South Africans since they're also part of the overall population. Let's not pretend that their influence be it historically or in the present doesn't still affects the psyche of the native population in terms of a conquered and conqueror complex Mr Mudede.

@14,
Except chemical castration can be reversed. I say no mercy for rapists. Chemical castration would be fine if it meant dipping their junk in hydrochloric acid.

Well, this is just bad news for women all around.
How can the military allow this to continue? Why would any woman join the military knowing she has a 43% chance of being raped by her colleagues?

I support a broad ban on straight men in the military. Let all the women and gays fight the wars- that would really piss off the terrorists.

Ugh! To The Best of Our Knowledge had an interview with a female soldier about her rape. If she chose to file a report she'd be court marshalled for having put her weapon down in a war zone, despite the fact that she had DNA evidence. Women are getting raped in the showers, but let's not let any gay person serve, because we read and hear about gay rape in the military all the time don't we?

@4: I agree that rape is a horrible, vicious, damaging crime. It's an insidious one, too: about 1/3 of women will be sexually assaulted in the US, many by close acquaintances who will never quite admit to their victim or themselves what it is they really did. But...worse than murder? Personally the only sort of physical assault I'd say resulted in a fate worse than death would be something that left me so badly crippled that I couldn't take care of myself. There's likely cases of rape or other torture that leave the victim psychologically scarred in a permanent crippling fashion, but looking simply at the number of women who are sexually assaulted we can conclude that the vast majority of women assaulted eventually recover. I'll agree that rape is certainly worse than assault as it results in much more psychological trauma than just getting beaten, but to me the idea that it's worse than death carries the old connotations of one's worth being one's sexual purity.
