Posted by on Wed, Jun 17, 2009 at 10:35 AM

e179/1245260054-picture_2.pngAttention people who care: The iPhone 3.0 software update—featuring long-awaited features like copy and paste, landscape keyboards, the potential for MMS and tethering if you're lucky enough not to be enslaved to the dark forces at AT&T, and a bunch of other crap—is available now.

Please proceed to bring down Apple's software update servers.

I love the new iPhone - it lets me find the nearest Tukwilla station of ST LINK to join the mile-long club, and it shows me vids of President Obama giving same-sex couples health care rights.

Only problem seems to be on the SLOG page - it shows President Obama on the Enemies of SLOG side, think maybe it doesn't work well with SLOG.

@1: *rolling eyes*

I'm updating currently and starting to get more and more worried that it's not going to be able to finish before apple crashes down.

I went with the $49 Unlimited Any Time plan from Virgin mobile. Got a JAX phone for $14 and hooked it up -- web, music, video...spectacular.

My last phone was stolen at Westlake Plaza along with my netbook by a white male early 20s at 6pm wearing a red and grey pullover shirt.

You can jailbreak to enable MMS and tethering, even on AT&T.

I have never understood why this "landscape keyboard" thing was not included in the original OS. It is not a very large leap either technically or conceptually. I am fairly sure they kept this out on purpose to include as a carrot in a later release. Apple is occasionally looking more and more like MS these days. Sigh.

@7, Amen.

@9, I guess they just didn't expect so many of their users to have such fat fingers. As a person with smaller hands, I'm probably never going to use the landscape keyboard since the placement of the buttons makes typing slower and it covers up too much of the screen.

iTunes Store has hit a wall. I'm in the middle of my upgrade and now cannot connect to them.

Who needs 3.0 when you have Cupcake? T-Mobile's G1 has had all that and a bag of chips forever. A compass too.
