City Week in Review

Ever wanted to yell at me, David Horsey, Art Thiel, and Knute Berger all at once? Imagine the efficiencies! Well, we're all going to be on KUOW's Weekday this morning to talk about the news of the week: the brewing healthcare fight, the digital conversion for television, the Amanda Knox trial, the return of Swine Flu, the Mariners' draft pick, and six things you can't say in Seattle.

Six things you can't say in Seattle:
6. "I hate you"; "I'm happy"; any expression of pure emotion rather than attempts to follow moral ules and codes.
5. "You know, you're too uninformed and mistaken to make a valid contribution to this discussion, so we won't include your views in the final report. Please sit down and shut up, you're just blocking progress."
4. "actually, our niceness is fake, especially as to transplants. When we ask you do you plan to stay, what we mean is fuck you go away.
We hate you."
5. "Hey, let's look at another city where they figured this stuff out [transit; rowhouses; whatever] and just copy what they did here. We're all the same really, so things that work in Asia and Europe and California and back East will surely work here. We don't need any unique solutions, because at bottom we're really just the same as everyone else and we're not really unique."

Could they have picked a panel who's opinions I care about less? Good thing for you, Eli, is that normally you would be scraping the bottom of the barrel, but with Horsey there you're safe this time.
