Since the Ayatollah is the real leader with all the power in Iran, isn't this election really more like a vice-presidential election?

Speaking of Miss California, perhaps you missed this one: Carrie Prejean's successor stated yesterday that she supports Prejean's position on marriage, and that it should be "between a man and a woman."

If you've seen one bimbo, you've seen them all.

Fewer than 50 people in the United States every year get any kind of food poisoning or parasite infection from eating sushi. That's lower than the rates for fresh vegetables, poultry, and pretty much anything else.

A lot of sushi fish is flash-freezed, which kills off quite a number (though not all) bacteria or parasites. Sushi preparation is also characterized by obsessive hygiene, when done by trained professional sushi chefs. It's one of the safest things you can eat. It's not 100% safe (nothing is), but it's very safe.

The main risk of sushi is actually in mercury poisoning from excessive consumption of fish such as tuna/ahi, shark, halibut, tilefish, etc. This risk is also true for cooked fish, however. Even so, there are very few cases of mercury poisoning caused by eating fish. It's best for children and teens whose brains are still developing (and pregnant women) to avoid mercury-prone fish entirely, but for adults the risks are minor.

What #3 said. Good sushi is characterized by excellent health practices and very careful quality control.

Amanda's teestifying all day. Part of the time in italiano!

At least that's one American who bothers to learn a foreign language.

Can't wait to buy her book and see the movie. she'll be acquitted, and she'll make about $5 million easy.

Bravo Amanda.

Didn't some semi-famous actor recently get mercury poisoning from eating too much sushi?
