The Ice Cream Wars Continue: Full Tilt to Open Columbia City Location Next Month

Posted by Megan Seling on Fri, Jun 12, 2009 at 1:56 PM

d827/1244840177-fulltiltoutside.jpgFull Tilt Ice Cream will open a second location in Columbia City on July 3rd. The store will be at 5101 Rainier Ave S, #105, and just like their current location in White Center, they'll have over a dozen pinball machines and host all-ages shows on the weekends.

Full Tilt offers a rotating menu of about 16 flavors (with some vegan options), including raspberry ripple, toasted coconut, corn and chili, margarita sorbet, vanilla bean, mint chocolate chip, and more. They also serve beer and paletas.

Follow Full Tilt on Twitter for updates about the new store and to hear about what flavors they're currently serving and/or concocting.

damn full tilt, why you gotta give the south end so much love? The U-District will gladly take you in. If you guys moved in next to Cafe Racer I'd say that block would be the best in town.

Oh man, I start a lease in Columbia City in July. I get Lightrail, icecream, pinball, and a real neighborhood. Columbia City is going to explode even more than it has in the last 10 years.

How does one actually win or lose this ice cream "war"? Do you win by not going out of business?

@5 Yeah, it's less a war and more a party, actually. It seems all stores are thriving since Full Tilt, Molly Moon's, and Old School Frozen Custard have just (or will be soon) opening a 2nd location.

They say sweets are recession proof, and with all the ice cream booming, and a couple more cupcake shops to boot (Cupcake Royale's coming to the hill, Yellow Leaf opened in Belltown), I think that this is proof.

Ice cream party!

At the end of the ice cream war, there will be corpses with sticky hands. Surplus waffle cones will be had for cheap on the black market. Children will be digging up chocolate sprinkles and tiny sample tasting spoons for decades to come.
You will cry every time you think of ice cream. You will try to make "You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream" jokes, but it will be too soon.
All will rue the ice cream wars!

Full Tilt rocks. Great innovative organic ice creams, vintage pinball and video, live music and a lot of fun.

Take a trip to White Center. Go by nearby Zippy's for the best burger in town and then head to Full Tilt. The south end will rise again.

Good to hear an ice cream store is opening. Old School custard is tasty but it only comes in like 3 or 4 flavors. Molly Moons is somewhat tasty but again doesn't have many different, innovative flavors and is too expensive.

If Full Tilt is REALLY an ice cream shop - they'll win, easily.

The closest Seattle came to an ice cream shop was the Mix on the Ave - but like Cold Stone, it wasn't really ice cream. Fer f's sake, I go to Baskin Robbins sometimes because they're the only ice cream shop that has a variety of flavors, you know - like an ice cream shop is supposed to!

Full Tilt - bring it!

There's always Husky in West Seattle - Full Tilt is truly great but Husky has been and continues to be a real ice cream store (among it's many other qualities and talents) - 75 years and still going strong with new flavors like their recent addition: Nutella (huh? I don't even like the nutella butter but the ice cream seems to be drawing a lot of fans).

I wanted to like the Ice Cream at Full TIlt a little more that I did. But this is still good news for people in the south end.
