This Made Me Homesick

Posted by on Thu, Jun 11, 2009 at 9:35 AM

No other reason to post, but other Chicagoans who've relocated to Seattle might enjoy it...

My brother Bill, a.k.a. Chicago Fan, is a regular at Bruno's, the tavern shown at the start of the piece. When we were kids we would stop at Bruno's on our way to the beach to pick up grape sodas and bags of Jays Potato Chips. Ah... summer.

Video won't play. Don't forget about your fellow Chicagoans in Charlotte, NC. Not a fan of the grape, but Jays - yum yum.

Wow, Jays Potato Chips...I remember the free pencils that would be taped to the bags... I grew up across the lake in Michigan...and we drank Faygo with our Jays.

Can't stop eating 'em

"No one cares about transplants' hometowns."

Yes the hospitality of Seattleites, and their sincere interest in other people and their experiences, what we can learn from other cities and places, is legendary among all cities in the USA!

Kinda reminds me of my ultra rural Southern relatives cerca 1964.
