Whether in its filthy print form or in its equally filthy incarnation on the electronets, The Stranger remains: far too gay.

I do find it to be somewhat poetic justice, however, that this announcement of Slog being a "top" blog actually places this scroll of virtual nonsense near the bottom of its deviant class—below even something called PerezHilton.com (note to my friend and polo companion Barron Hilton: a strongly-worded letter from your barrister should take care of this misappropriation of your good name). Slog's poor showing is no doubt a result of our having left that frightening epoch in which notorious sissy Adrian Ryan was given carte blanche to dither and prance all over the weekly print volume.

In these parts, I guess, this is what passes for progress.

Myself, I will continue to do the yeoman's work of manning-up The Stranger via my weekly column and bi-monthly Twicker feed. My dear gentleman commenters of Slog, I trust you will also redouble your efforts to offset the homosexualry with robust masculine righteousness.

Carry on,

A. Birch Steen
