The former Czech Prime Minister's response to a published photo that showed him naked with naked women at the Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's villa:
"It is me in the photo," said Mr Topolanek, who resigned in March after he lost a confidence vote. He said that the photographs had been doctored and accused "European socialists" of orchestrating a smear campaign. "I did not know that the [European] elections were so important for the European socialists that they would do such manipulations," said Mr Topolanek.I wish American socialists were as ruthless as these European ones.

Chuckster, maybe if the USA alt media wasn't just alt-tabloidy and actually reported on shit like major european elections instead of spending time on salacious photos, then the american people would be a bit more informed and a bit more ruthless and directed, the the american socialists would be a bit more ruthless, too.

Ok here's the leading parties in the european parliament (before the election ending today) [with comments]:
European People's Party-European Democrats EPP-ED 268 [these are the conservatives basically. Wow. They lead!]
Party of European Socialists PES 200 [this is the socialists a/k/ a social democrats, not the stalinist kind of socialist, duh] [wow they're in second place]
Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe ALDE 88 [hmm csome kind of centrist party. most of our "Democrats" in the USA might fit in here.]
- European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party ELDR
- European Democratic Party EDP
European Greens/European Free Alliance EG/EFA 42 [ahh the greens. At least in Europe they've figured out how to be a real party.]
European United Left - Nordic Green Left EUL/NGL 41 [aha another lefty green party. If the left parties could bother to unite, then they would be ahead of the conservatives. Nordic Green + Green + Party of European Socialists > conservatives]
