Maximus Minimus is open at the southeast corner of 2nd and Pike.

Slog tipper kid icarus writes:

And just as Skillet gets [temporarily] shut down, a new challenger appears! Maximus Minimus opened yesterday and is now slinging some righteous pulled pork sandwiches to the good denizens of The Blade. They're serving from 11 to 3, but apparently sold out almost immediately yesterday. I am currently stuffing my face with the maximus (hot) version.

All hail our new roach coach overlords!

Meanwhile, it looks like the Hawaiian-Korean fusion of Marination Mobile is still a week or more away.

I passed this at lunch on Weds. and the line went way down the block. I'll admit I was curious as to how good this could be to draw such a crowd. Paseo on wheels?

WTF are they doing at 2nd and Pike. There are plenty of other places to eat around there. They should come to the Lower Queen Anne like The Skillet used to.

Wonder what happens if pork is served at the wrong temperature? Let us know how it "comes out" for you in an hour or so!!

That is so ingenious, goes to show how entrepreneurship sometimes brings unique art-forms for our pleasure.

@3:

1. It's really close to their location in the Market, which means they can probably keep inventory there for quick replenishment.

2. That parking lot is a notorious spot for drug-dealing/using, so I wouldn't be surprised if the City has cut them some sort of a deal to maintain presence, attract foot traffic, and thus discourage illegal activities there.

3. That roach coach is just screaming "TOURIST ATTRACTION!!!", so putting it close to a tourist destination like the Market does make sense.

4. If this is successful, I wouldn't be surprised to see them either build more, or move this one around during the off-tourist season.

5. According to their web site, Skillet still sets up for lunch at 1st & Republican in the old QFC parking lot, I presume.

Nice crowd today, I didn't go, but I did get a free Dr Pepper near Westlake.

Is named after that pig from Animal Farm, beasts of Seattle? I guess it's better than Snowball.

Note to vegetarians: they mention having vegetarian sandwiches. I haven't had time to try one yet, but in case you were wondering...

Had the Maximus (spicy) yesterday with the minimus (sweeet) slaw. Pretty tasty! Plan on hitting the pigstream at least once a week. My friends and I cal that the corner of Crack and Crystal, here's hoping that the increased presence will clean the parking lot up a little.

Yeah, it was the non-permitted trailer that got shut down, and Skillet is still operational. Posts like this, however, aren't helping the public know that.

Does anyone else think that this might have been inspired by a silver turkey a la "Skinny Legs and All"?
