Re: Was This Guy the Ricin Queen?

Posted by on Thu, Jun 4, 2009 at 6:06 PM

Dan, your Ricin Queen may still be out there. Seattle Police Department spokesman Jeff Kappel says SPD has not been contacted about a possible link to the ricin scare last January. FBI spokeswoman Robbie Burroughs also says the feds have "no reason to believe" the cases are linked.

Obviously this investigation is pretty fresh, so we'll see what happens.

I just read Underground, Haruki Murakami's book about the sarin attack on the Tokyo subway. It was reassuring in some ways, since only 15 people out of more than 5,000 exposed died, but troubling in other ways, as I don't trust emergency services to respond adequately.

@1 Yeah, that sounds reasonable, by reading a book about a terrorist incident in a very different country, fifteen years ago, and no other insight you've decided that emergency responses could not be adequate in the US after eight years of intensive intel, planning and investment in exactly that.
