You heard it here first. Unless you already follow GodHatesFags.com. But if not, check their schedule for June 13-15. They’ll be at the Northend Seattle JCC on Saturday evening (that’s the preschool, which is usually in session then, right?), at Congregation Beth Shalom on Sunday at 8:45 a.m., just in time for their morning Minyan, then to a bunch of churches and Seattle Pacific University (you know, the school with the non-drinking vows the students must sign?), and on Monday they’ll be at Garfield High School (at 7:10 a.m. - more than a half hour before start time) then to the ADL’s (former) downtown high rise building, and wrapping up the fun here at our downtown offices before heading off to L.A. for some fun in the sun (and maybe to catch Conan at his new digs).

The best thing that could happen is that no one would show up at their protests and they would go home ignored. But, I guess it is already too late for that...

A while back, a few of them came to a funeral for a family who was killed by the 15 year old son. A group of us went to the church, prepared with sheets and poles to create a visual barrier between the Westburo creeps and the mourners.

Seriously, the best thing to do is ignore these crazy sons-of-bitches. They are all lawyers and love suing. If you do anything to harass them, they will drag your ass to court. They are media whores and love attention. I for one will be pressing snooze Friday morning while they are spreading their crazy.

They probably think when people ignore them it's just more persecution and fires them up again.
It would be nice to hire some people with highly contagious and easily communicable diseases to hang around them for a few days.

I've had a fantasy for years of showing up at one of their protests in a camaro t-top in hot sexy drag...not campy drag - sexy drag. The kind that makes straight boys confused. I Feel Love by Donna Summer is playing really loud. I get out of the car and sashay around it looking fierce with a hot guy or something. It looks like now I'll have an opportunity...:)

Never mind about Larry making it to their protests. Rev.Phelps and gang believes that anyone who marries after divorce is committing adultery and therefore is going to hell. Larry Stickney has two divorces and is on his third marriage. Maybe Rev. Phelps and gang can be persuaded to carry signs promoting R-71 - while the TV stations are shooting video. I'm sure Gary and Larry wouldn't mind the support.

I saw the always effervescent Mrs. Phelps on CNN (I think it was CNN, anyway) a while ago, and ho-lee shit, she was 31 different kinds of crazy. I guess that goes without saying, but when someone sits them down and asks to hear their "perspective on the issues", it's really a treat. If I remember correctly, it ended with her descending into some kind of wild-eyed rant and screaming obscenities at the interviewer. Quality TV, that.

I don't think that ignoring them would be useful. Yes, they like attention, but I also like for them to get attention, since the vast majority of people find their tactics appalling. They represent homophobes well.

They held a protest at my former High School a few months back, and it was literally pathetic. There were four of them. They were outnumbered by about 200 highschool students. It was great.
