Youth Pastor Watch

Posted by Dan Savage on Wed, Jun 3, 2009 at 10:08 AM

Florida:

A Center Hill man who served as a youth pastor is facing sexual battery charges following accusations he molested a boy in previous years, according to Sumter County Sheriff’s officials.

An 18-year-old man told sheriff’s investigators on Tuesday that when he was 12 to 16 years old, he was sexually molested by Jose Alfredo Coronado, according to sheriff’s Lt. Bobby Caruthers. The young man claimed the molestation began while Coronado served as his youth pastor, Caruthers said.

Texas:

A former Kingsville youth minister pleaded guilty Monday to indecency with a child by exposure and received eight years probation, said District Attorney John Hubert.

Paul Garza, 31, of Kingsville, was a youth minister when he met and had a relationship with a girl, then 16, in his program, Hubert said. Hubert wouldn’t release the specifics of what Garza was accused of doing.

California:

A former youth pastor and teacher's aide is facing four life sentences after he was convicted in a Humboldt County court of child molestation and possession of child pornography.

Twenty-six-year-old Andrew Belant was found guilty Monday of more than a dozen charges. Authorities say he abused four boys, aged nine through 13, between January 2007 and March 2008.... Belant denied abusing at least one of the boys and said he did not recall taking pornographic photos of boys found on hard drives in his possession.

Illinois:

An East Peoria youth pastor has been sentenced to five weekends in jail and four years of sex offender probation for the sexual abuse of a girl in his youth ministry. William D. Richardson, 33, of 111 Cracklewood in East Peoria, pleaded guilty on May 21 to two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim between the ages of 13 and 18 over whom he had a position of trust or authority, a Class 2 felony.

Someone has to make a "YouthPastorWatch.com" to track all this - I can visualize a map, a timeline, and maybe photos. I noticed that the URL is taken - perhaps you already have plans Dan?

I think I like the "There is no morality without religion" show better than the "Youth pastor watch" show. I think it's because YPW sorta feels like a never-ending rerun; whereas, TINMWR has unique entries most of the time.

Just sayin...

Homosexuals are 2% of the population but 50% of the Youth Pastor Watch.
They have gutted the Catholic Priesthood and are working their way thru the Protestants now.

What is the moral of YPW again;
that if they can marry
Homosexuals won't have sex
with teenagers?
Is that it?

#3,4 I think the moral of YPW is you'd better keep your kids away from church because that's where most of the vilest people hang out. Fuckers
