So, let's get this straight...

If a major corporation sells a sexual favor, then it's considered to be free trade, but if individuals engaged in the same act it would be prostitution.

Actually, don' t ya think that China has enough environmental problems without adding Hummers to the mix?

I have a better headline: GM gives Chinese firm a Hummer.

First: Hahahahaha. Second: Good effing riddance! I want to see a million chinese pricks mashing through tiny Chinese villages with those bastard-defining "cars."

The same old man team is in charge at GM.
On TV recently it's clear they have not got a clue why they failed. Any team that didn't realize in gaininga few sales with the Hummer they permanently alienated 50% of the market -- WTF. The new CEO drives a Cadillac to work. Their product line is now Cadillac, Malibu and Camaro. They're living in 1962. Just like politicians here who want to build a $8 billion auto tunnel. Throw them out.

@3 Yeah, but they're just going to try to sell them to us for cheaper than they've ever been...

China doesn't give a shit about selling Hummers to us; they have a market of about a BILLION VEHICLES staring them right in the face. That's how many Chinese cars and trucks might be sold in the next decade -- more than doubling the worldwide total. DOUBLING.

Yeah, they're building vast cul-de-sac suburbs with big houses on large lots with double garages to put them in, too. Hundreds of millions of garages. You people have no idea what's about to hit you. GM's not the only folks living in 1962; America is officially passé. Enjoy your chalupa.

AFP is Agence France-Presse, the French wire service. The "Associated Foreign Press" does not exist.

@6,

So why do they want Hummers? Shouldn't they be focusing on practical, and affordable, cars for those 1.3 billion people? Their current mode of development has a huge potential to blow up in their faces.

@6 - About half of China's workforce is in agriculture or fishing, so it's hard to imagine them living the American dream anytime soon.

There are definitely some wealthy people in China, particularly in the big cities, but their devalued currency and dirt-cheap labor is the main reason for that. At some point, there will be some major economic turmoil in China.

That doesn't change the fact that they will be selling a shit-ton of cars and trucks. I just don't think it's a billion.

Keshmeshi, I didn't say that all billion would be Hummers; I said "cars and trucks".

Mahtli69, I didn't say they'd be selling all billion to Chinese. There are a LOT of people looking to buy cars for the first time in the world, and a nice knockoff Toyota or Fiat (China pirates automobiles, not just DVDs) will suit them just fine.

So, let me get this straight, they're using the money we sent them by shopping at WalMart and destroying America, to buy our military equipment manufacturing plans?

Wow.

Smooth move, Comrade Bush! Way to sell USA out.
