The Return of the Monster Car

Posted by on Tue, Jun 2, 2009 at 3:36 PM

The future of the horrible Hummer? China!

Bankrupt automaker [GM] discloses details of plan to sell truck line to China's industrial company Sichuan Tengzhong.

Privately owned Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Company Ltd., based in China, will acquire the truck brand, which has been part of GM since 1999. Tengzhong said it plans to keep Hummer's management team.

God, no, please. Let that monster just die.

Wow. SO yeah, not like anyone here would know or care, but the H1, 2, and 3 are based on the chassis of the HMMWV. What's that, you ask? Oh, it's that pesky thing that ferries all our men into combat. This is roughly analgous to sellling state secrets, althought at this point I guess it doesn't matter since the Chinese own us anyways.
