In The Navy!

Posted by on Tue, Jun 2, 2009 at 11:00 AM

Navy Times:

fabb/1243965402-inthenavy.jpgLt. Shane Dillman, the Navy chaplain accused of several sex-related offenses involving four female shipmates, was found guilty Monday of forcing a female junior enlisted sailor to have sex with him. He was found not guilty of two other sexual assault charges regarding the same female sailor.

Military judge Capt. Moira Modzelewski is currently deliberating his sentence in Norfolk, Va. The government asked for 12 years confinement and dismissal from the service. The defense asked for not more than two years confinement.

Remember, kids: There is no morality without religion—and we can't let gays serve openly in the military because it would be bad for order and discipline and morale. I mean, this rapist chaplain might not have been able to get it up if he thought some gay sailor dude was checking out his ass.

Obviously as soon as Obama lets Gays serve openly in the military this kind of thing will totally stop. In fact if we could just get our military to think about gays in the military we could cut down a lot on this behavior.

@2, yes that is exactly the argument. You are spot on.

Most actively serving women who are kicked out under DADT had it happen because they didn't agree to sex with a male superior.

This is why, even though gay males are a much larger contingent of active serving soldiers, gay women are most of the ones kicked out under DADT.

Sad, very sad.

And when other NATO countries let gays serve openly, their combat effectiveness actually improved, as did morale (except for senior officers, who tend to be sticks in the mud).

That's a good one.
The other NATO countries don't have any combat effectiveness.

I hope that the following announcement is the totality of the "big news" promised for the LGBT community.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/the_press_offi…

There better be more - like the repealing of DOMA and DADT during the month of June - otherwise, the announcement is just so much hot air.

You don't call Canada a NATO country? Canadian Forces -- which include openly gay and lesbian soldiers, sailors, and airmen -- have been in Afghanistan from the beginning.

Dillman is a married Pentecostal pastor who would pick his victims from his Bible study group, and fuck them afterwards.

NATO has token forces in the War on Terror but they are constantly whining to mommy to be able to come home and we put up with having them there to make it look multinational.
NATO couldn't even handle Bosnia without the USA.

@6 - who the heck do you think was in Afghanistan during the long dark teatime of the soul while our US forces wasted their time in Iraq? It sure wasn't the Russians ...

@12,

That's not force, dimwit. Now how's about you follow through on your threat already.

@12

Rape: the unlawful compelling of a woman through physical force or duress to have sexual intercourse.

Duress: compulsion by threat or force; coercion; constraint.

Yes, telling someone that if they don't have sex with you than you will kill yourself is rape. It is a form of coercion/intimidation. If a person believes you to be serious, that you will, in fact, kill yourself than you have intimidated them into the act of sex, which is technically rape. It may sound ridiculous to you, but things of this nature happen all the time.

and @13 - constantly whining? considering their levels, I'm surprised they lasted this long - longer than the USA was in WW II actually.

seriously, anonymous people really need to go enlist.

I'm pretty sure that rape involves physical coercion.

Have sex with me, or you're fired falls under sexual extortion, which is debatably just as bad, but rapists go to a rougher prison (or probably should).

Dan, thanks for the Village People vid. I missed that song.

Let's find the Muppet version, it's just as funny.

And I'll bet the rest of my hair that any group like the Village People wouldn't been able to 'borrow' any Navy Destroyers for the set of a song like this.

@20 loss of life is far more traumatic than the loss of job. I may not be an expert in the law, and only took a few classes on this particular subject matter like 5 years ago, so, yes my knowledge is rusty, however, I do remember the threat of a loss of life of the person being raped, someone they care about, or even the rapist themselves in order to obtain sex from the person is considered rape. It would be a hard case to try, I don't doubt it, but technically if it can be proven it would be considered rape.
