"That with it, thou may blow thine enemies into tiny bits... In thy mercy."

I love Python! I still can't decide if I like Holy Grail better or Life of Brian better.

Watching this in the context of Tiller's murder is making me cry-laugh-cry-I-need-a-nap almost as much as Up did.

I like both Life of Brian and Holy Grail. Thanks, for the laugh.

@5: Yes, Yes, I like Life of Brian better! I am an individual... we are all individuals!

@8: LOL!

Brian was - and remains - more subversive.

I'll grant that the ending of Grail is genius, though. It's no small feat to be that post-modern in a mainstream movie in 1975.

@4: Is there some sort of epidemic of sleep deprivation going on around here? Let's see so far there's: you, me, Dan, Megan, Mr. Poe, and I know that I'm missing others who have been a bit on the lack of sleep side of things.

@3: I agree that it is hard to decide between the two. I'll always have a soft spot for Life of Brian for the scene with the Latin lesson (Romans go home - and the shout out to the dative and accusative cases and declension in general) - and of course "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life".

But I probably quote Grail more - at least in daily usage, etc.

I think Brian was more subversive, as BABH @9 said, and the humor was more satirical; whereas, the humor in Grail was more silly.

Not 100% in either case - the alien spaceship scene in Brian was definitely silly humor, while the Castle Anthrax and the peasant "violence inherent in the system" scenes were more satire.

But I think I probably like them both equally, for different reasons.
