Religion Youth Pastor Watch

Gregory Nies played Santa Claus in Lititz Springs Park. He was a youth group leader at the Lititz United Methodist Church, served on Borough Council and ran for mayor three times. And on Wednesday, Nies was arrested, accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.
Nies, 56, of South Spruce Street, was charged by borough police with inappropriately touching, hugging and kissing the girl on several occasions when she spent the night in his family's home, according to a police affidavit.... The investigation, which began last month when the girl contacted Lititz police, also marked the end of Nies' third attempt to run for mayor of the borough, when he lost the Republican endorsement and suddenly withdrew from the race.
Nies, who is married and has children, surrendered Wednesday morning before District Judge Daniel Garrett.... The girl told police that Nies had sexual-type contact with her eight times when she was spending the evening at his home. In addition to kissing and hugging, when they were alone together in the basement, according to court documents, the girl said Nies repeatedly had sexual contact with her, touching her private areas, telling her "this is what dads do."

Uh...MY dad didn't do that. Didn't he leave something out..."This is what creepy, disgusting, child-molesting dads do?" Someone needs to call CPS out to his house, too. Poor kids!

That's a really interesting statement. Could be an admission of other girls he's callously victimized, also possible that this is what his dad did to him. Less likely, based on the overall reporting.
Guess no denomination is proof from this sort of thing. Wonder what could be done to make sure predators like that don't get another chance to hurt kids? I mean aside from a bullet in the brain?

@9 and all: No, send him to jail. That's what we do to criminals in this country. It's amazing how easily progressives get out their ole republican torches and pitchforks when a crime THEY don't like occurs. This is why there are no torture prosecutions in this country. Everyone loves to hate someone so bad that they wish the laws didn't apply to them.

@10 - It's got nothing to do with being progressive. It's about assholes like this going after the most vulnerable part of society - children. These "men" damage children, sometimes for life. I like to consider myself progressive, and I am a pacifist, but if someone like this freak ever touched my daughter, I'd go Lorena Bobbitt on him in a heartbeat.
As for it being a crime that THEY don't like, I would hope this is one we can all embrace as horrific. Even in jail, child molesters are the bottom of the barrel.

I'm so happy that dan finally posted information that goes against his agenda... this clearly shows that most pedophiles are heterosexual men, something they don't want to admit (although they seek the moral ground against gay marriage rights... I can bring up more examples linking heterosexuality to pedophilia if anyone needs them, but I'll be sure to share them with people who are more concerned about child molestation and receptive to learn the truth). *This* is why heterosexual marriage should not be allowed. The sanctity of marriage needs protecting!
What are we to conclude from the actions of these heterosexual men in positions of trust, abusing that trust... what about the suitability of heterosexuals to function as foster parents, Scout Masters, coaches, or other positions where they would deal with teenagers and young women?
They would probably call the victim a bigot for daring to come forth to tell the story!

It's pretty obvious who (aka what demographic) I'm making fun of, I hope. Most of what's been said above comes directly copy & pasted from the previous pastor watch... Where the fuck are you now, "lovechild"(s)? Get over homosexuality and stop trying to link it to pedophilia. Here's an analogy:
*breaking news, men who eat pasta are more likely to abuse their wives. Therefore, wife abusers most likely eat pasta! So let's get rid of all the pasta!!!*
What are we to conclude from the actions of these heterosexual men in positions of trust, abusing that trust... what about the suitability of heterosexuals to function as foster parents, Scout Masters, coaches, or other positions where they would deal with teenagers and young women?
