An Inconvenienter Truth

Posted by Paul Constant on Tue, May 19, 2009 at 3:40 PM

c85c/1242761343-img_2448.jpgStephen Bassett claims that the government has the solution for global warming all wrapped up in a little Nevada military base called Area 51. He wants President Obama to unveil the secret UFO technology that the government has been hiding all this time:

The power source, he said, chronicled in a report Greenwire did on the subject, behind a flying saucer the weight of a tractor-trailer which hurtles through galaxies at 20,000 miles per hour is astronomical.

“What is the energy system operating that craft?” Bassett said. “They’re not burning kerosene. It eliminates oil. It eliminates coal. If it’s as good as we think it is, it transforms everything.”

Bassett is also the founder of the "Million Fax on Washington," in which people are supposed to send faxes pleading for the government to declassify all its (supposedly voluminous) files on extraterrestrials. (Apparently, faxing is the new marching.) Did people like Bassett make public calls on George Bush to do shit like this, or is this the special hell of a Democratic president?

Well, it's much easier to control the population when you keep them confined to a single planet. That's the conspiracy ... man ...

Those 100 fax machines still remaining in DC will be humming all night, that's for sure.

20,000 mph? That's peanuts. Earth escape-velocity is a little over 25,000 mph, a velocity easily achieved by Apollo-era spacecraft.

At that rate it would would have taken this so-called UFO more than 20 years just to get from Pluto to earth on average; spanning an interstellar distance at that relative snails-pace would be unthinkable.

FAIL

Ask yourself what this guy is getting from this. Money? Attention? Both?

Vince, he wants their dilithium crystals. I hear they're worth big bucks.

Excellent point Comte.

All that remains for me to point out is that this photo appears to be a alien-model sex-doll with the inflation stem positioned at the crotch.

Disturbing.

All that info was sold to India by Cheney.

I think this man is confused and a conspiricy fan, but I will say that I agree the government is hiding some technologies from us, and maybe even more. I on that hand also do belive that alian life could exist, most scientific studies and evidence do in fact point to there being a high possibility of planets with life, maybe even intelligent life. That being said, they would have to be extremly advanced by our standards to in order to travel that long of a distance. They would either have to have some kind of stasis for their ships crew, to keep them alone the hundreds of years it would require them to get her at even that speed, or some kind of "warp" engine. Physics says it's possible, with the whole ripping a hole in space or bending space. Any life, that intelligent, would be far above our conprehension and if they did turn out to be bad, would wipe us out as easier than we squash bugs. We also have no idea what they would look or be link. Literatly the world if Star Trek and Stargate is just a scratch of the surface. So if you ask me, it is highly possible for life to be out there, but highly unlikely we have been visited or would see them with our telescopes or pick up their transmissions, considering it would probaly take hundreds of thousands or even millions of years for their signals to reach us, even if they made it across the great void. Any other civilization like ours at about the same technoligical level, might be looking at the stars right now and not even see us, since the light from our sun may not have reached them yet, or they might see a earth from millions of years ago. It is virtualy like looking back in time. Holly Shit, I know too much about this stuff, lol.

And just how did the aliens achieve such fuel efficient technology?

Yes.

Government mandated mileage requirements.

"Did people like Bassett make public calls on George Bush to do shit like this, or is this the special hell of a Democratic president?"

Spoken like someone who has never worked for an elected official. Speaking as someone who worked for 6 years for a Senator in DC, I can tell you this is a daily occurrence. I am a little disappointed that he didn't get in to the fact that the Illuminati actually control Area 51. Maybe you just left that out.

@4, no kidding. His raving about 20,000mph in the vacuum of space is dumb. The damn Space Shuttle orbits the earth at ~18,000mph. Voyagers I and II are currently travelling at about 35,000 mph. And they don't exactly have up to date technology. You need to learn to ignore ass-hats like this guy.

I would assume that both parties' presidents get this shit, but I would think that Democrats get more. After all, these same conspiracy nuts would assume that Bush could in no way be shamed, harassed, or otherwise coerced into releasing anything that would hurt his friends in the oil industry.

@14 - you underestimate these nuts.

Maybe he meant 20,000 miles per second?

On second thought, that's only about 10% of the speed of light, giving them a 40 year trip even from our nearest star (and any seemingly helpful time dilation is still rather insignificant at 0.1c).

I'm just going to go with insanity.

Not if they carry portable holes with them, w7ngman.

As the Road Runner proved, they're quite useful.

@ 12,

I bet Bassett flunked science and math all the way through college. Those are the ones who think Star Trek/Star Gate are real...or believe in Jesus.

Maybe it is 20,000 mph which once you are in space just increases exponentially since you don't lose your previous thrust. Anyway I'm all for storming Area 51. Let's spread a rumor that the next tea party will happen there. Two problems solved at once.
