I've had my fingers crossed that this bear was someone's pet and we'd get one of those awesome "woman lives with 30 exotic animals" stories that periodically come out. You know, Lindy West sleeping with a jaguarundi and three types of lemur in her bed while a bear wearing a collar sleeps in her bathtub or something.

Then again, that killer Chimp-groom story from CT got boring after a day or two.

Jen, did you see that Obama's CIA Chief Panetta is calling Pelosi a liar?

@2: Have you considered the possibility that it may be because Pelosi is a liar?

That bear wandered through my neighbor's yard.

I've always told my skeptical wife that my peeing on the property line every night would keep the wild beasts away. I feel vindicated.

Before it fades completely, Rachel Alexandra becomes the first filly to win the Preakness since 1924. Fillies aren't normally run against the boys. The Kentucky Derby winner, Mine That Bird, made a great run at it at the finish. In an unusual twist, Calvin Borel jockied Mine That Bird to victory in the Derby and switched to Rachel Alexandra for the win in the Preakness. So the jockey has a shot at the Triple Crown if he can ride the winner in the Belmont.

I'm not sure if she is so much a liar as really really stupid. Probably both. Obama is distancing himself.

1. Pelosi was there, Panetta was not there.
2. CIA is not releasing the documents from the meeting where allegedly they told her.

Very suspicious.

3. Do not believe any CIA person is out saying "I was there, this is what I told her."

3. Bob Graham was head of Senate Intell committee and he says CIA did not tell him.

4. CIA has history of lying. Huge history of lying. Indeed, huge history of illegal acts, coups, hiding things from Congress and the people.

Duh!!!!!!!!

5. she probably correctly calculated if she made a stink ( a private letter sent to administration) it would go nowhere.

6. Whether she was a dumbass for not objecting isn't directly relevant to whether torture made us safer, was ilegal, etc.

"You made me toture because you didn't stop me"?

7. they didn't fucking tell ME and she doesn't represent ME. So fuck this whole pelosi distraction tactic.

8. No one is saying they told her (a) our legal memo was a work of fiction, (b) the torture exceeded the legal memo standards anyway, (c) we didn't just waterboard we did it 83 times and 183 times, clearly illegal, and clearly ineffective and for malicious motives concerning Cheney's obsessions; if it doesn't work after 182 times, it doesn't fucking work, RIGHT?? (d) in fact the guy stopped giving us useful info when we started waterboarding, (e) we did the waterboarding to get false info not for any ticking time bomb scenario, (f) all of our experienced interrogators told us don't do it and we outsourced this to amateurs who knew nothing about real interrogation and our whole program is a lie and a scam.

So there's no dispute that they lied or held back on major pieces of important information.

9. Adopting the Bush admin position on whether they told her to make this issue go away is not CHANGE like Obama promised.

My god the whole right wing is out there praising his foreign policy decisions on the ground they are so Bush-like.

The longer Obama is in office the smarter Bush becomes...

Closing Gitmo?
Preventive detentions?
Military tribunals?
Releasing abuse photos?

We'll call your bluff, Madam Speaker.
Let's do a Truth Commission.
Find out who knew what and when did they know it.
We'll see how you like putting your titties in that wringer.

It's curious how all this Pelosi bashing seems to be surfacing in so many weblogs. This post doesn't even mention Pelosi, but there's three anti-Pelosi comments from unregistered users.

This afternoon's top story on Reddit is about the multi-million dollar GOP astroturfing campaign that's apparently underway to conquer the blogosphere. The general public could give a rat's ass about Pelosi, it's not like she started any holy wars or new depressions despite what all the panicked Irish Catholic bigots(Hannity & Oreilly) claim.
