Not gonna lie, I was kinda disappointed when I realized that Mudede had just posted genetic coding instead of random nonsense like I had originally assumed. Sure, gene puzzles are interesting and all, but it would've been awesome to wonder if Charles has finally completely lost his mind.

He actually lost his mind years ago. The surprising thing is that, once in a blue moon, he's actually somewhat coherent.

@2, I find that he's far more coherent than most people give him credit for, but he's usually so far into the abstract that it's hard to tell.

OK, I work in a genetics lab and I'm totally missing the joke. Is it art? Is it post-modern?

Charles must have put the word "Gattaca" in a search engine (maybe the new Wolfram Alpha?) and stumbled into BLAST search and thought it was nifty enough to post, thereby triggering a mild geek-out.

The sequence of letters g-a-t-t-a-c-a is not anywhere in the longer DNA sequence he posted (after spaces, base numbers, etc. are stripped out). Oh well. Not every possible combination of g, a, t, and c means something in terms of the genetic code.

Gattaca was a great movie. It has a cool song at the end, instrumental and moody. The voices that play over the loudspeaker at the training station are in Esperanto.

PC, the Babel Fish translates "vachement dit" thusly: "bloody known as".
