it's the ultimate seattle date: a passive-aggressive, eeyorish invitation to a nerdy activity that starts too early.

That fucker Alex. Wouldn't you like to tell him what you really think of him? I would.

Don't make the poor guy feel like you are doing him a favor when he is the one taking YOU out.

If you really don't want to go, don't go. It's an amusing movie and a good way to spend an hour or two with someone you like in the dark.

I dunno...i've been working my way through Star Trek Enterprise Season 2 and it's pretty damn good...I hated all the other Star Trek movies so I'm doubtful.

Plus all I keep hearing about is Kirk and Spock.

I mean do they have stuff like Padma Parvati Lakshmi in the movie?

Seriously, Erica, all my female friends in Canada and the US liked it. Resistance is futile.

(although why there is a red exothermic monster on an ice world I'll never know - and the cycle rate on 1701-C phasers is way too fast in a certain scene)

One day I hope me and Mr. Poe can be Slog enemies like Fnarf and Will in Seattle. I really don't like that one.

A perfectly acceptable response to a request like "I don't suppose you'd want to see the Star Trek with me" would be "You are correct, sir!"

Tell us how it is.

The great thing about arguing with women is you don't even have to say anything. Just start hitting her.

1. Go to QFC and steal a bottle of $8.99 red wine.
2. Drink the whole thing (you know you can handle it).
3. See the movie.
4. Write a bitchy report tomorrow about how the movie is sexist (you know you want to).

Boldly go and see a movie you've never seen before!

Oh come on. It's just a movie. People are supposed to like movies, at least the ones that don't suck.

(Consider the alternatives. 1: Sit at home, alone. That's fun. Woo. Yeah. 2: Find something else to do and quit whining. Waste a few hours on YouTube if you have to. 3: Complain about it every time someone asks if you've seen the movie yet. Need I continue?)

Gosh, Erica, I am SO SORRY that someone dared to backhandedly invite you to see Star Trek. On behalf of all men everywhere, I must apologize for this terrible insult.

The part of the movie that bothered me the most was the female cadets in mini-skirts. Seriously? Flying through the Galaxy fighting alien enemies in mini-skirts and knee-high leather boots? Oh yeah, that makes all sorts of practical sense.
