Books Reading Today

Two guaranteed-to-be-good events today.
Greg Rucka, who writes awesome comic books and mysteries, will sign his newest novel, Walking Dead at Seattle Mystery Bookshop today. Rucka is the author of Whiteout and Queen & Country, which are two great comics that don't feature superheroes. He's also responsible for that lesbian Batwoman that all the kids were talking about a few years back. His novels are good, smart, well-plotted stuff, if you're into mystery series.
Elliott Bay Book Company hosts Leo Kim, a photographer. Kim will give an illustrated talk in support of his new photo book Sawdust Mountain. It's about the decline of the timber industry due to Amazon's hot new e-reader, the Kindle*.
Over at Third Place Books, Tamora Pierce reads from Bloodhound, the second book in a fantasy trilogy that appears to center around gambling dogs.
And, last but not least, Tony Millionaire signs his newest Maakies book at the Fantagraphics Store in Georgetown. Apparently, there will be booze at this reading. You know what that means:
