Fuck You Very, Very Much

Posted by on Tue, May 5, 2009 at 3:49 PM

This one goes out to the insecure, hateful douchebag taggers harassing a gay couple in West Seattle...

Thanks to Slog tipper Vanessa for pointing me to the video—it's brilliant.

This was very cute. But the fact that I'd never heard this song before made me feel older than my 32 years.

Too bad their is not more info about the taggers. Was it hate messages only or where there tag names as well? I mean, knowing their tags would definitely help the public in turning them in. What a bunch of goons. If someone fucked with my dog I would be out for gatdamned BLOOD, and not with poison either.

Stranger linking to Fox news about fags being harrassed.

OK, where's the 4th horseman?

I was running around in West Seattle last week and was shocked to see anti-gay graffiti which read, "Fags rape kids." I don't know if it's the same tag as the article.

The header on the article says "apparent hate crime". WTF??!!

Buried in the story is mention that one of the couple's dogs had been 'harmed' (it is inferred that the dog was poisoned) - that coupled with the wording used in the tagging that shows that sexual orientation is the stated 'reason' for the bias against this family.

I would like to find more information on this incident, but the news site gave no further links or info.

In addition to the 'hate crime' nature of this case, the incidence of harm to an animal may, under the First Strike program lead to further investigation of the person or persons responsible.

For more information about First Strike:
http://www.hsus.org/hsus_field/first_str…

From the HSUS website describing the program:

The First StrikeŽ campaign was created in 1997 to raise public and professional awareness about the connection between animal cruelty and other violent crime violence and to help communities identify some of the origins of violence, predict its patterns, and prevent its escalation.

If the taggers come back with such consistency, I'd wait in the bushes with a paintball gun and "tag" their faces when they return.

i fucking love this fucking song. sorry, string of "fuck"'s are comin' out for a while now. this song was originally written about bush, and was called "guess who batman" according to something i read. (gwb, get it?) which kind of makes it more appropriate for slog, huh?

I don't live in West Seattle, or know where these guys live, but if I did I'd be knocking on their door and volunteering for some watch shifts. Those knobs need to be taken down and out. Some spray paint in the eyes might help them to see things differently.

I am sorry to hear it. The video is cute, and a nice take on Ms. Allen's song.

LOVE it. I am really to the point of believing that logical conversation will not work and sometimes you just have to say "FUCK you".. I want my right and no group or person will stand in my way.

@15 - Word, I was thinking the same thing although I don't live in West Seattle either. Their neighbors should organize a watch and catch these fucking idiots.

@15 and 19. I live in Portland, but a neighborhood watch was my first thought, too. Anybody know if one is being organized?

@15 & @19 - Same here. Especially reading the bit where a neighbor of the couple was interviewed.

If the neighbors are concerned, and serious about wanting to keep their community safe and welcoming, they should set up some type of patrol or watch. At least to give that household and their immediate neighbors some peace of mind - and to show that they are a community.

@22 thanks for your earlier post about the First Strike program, I had never heard of it but am sure glad to find out. Hopefully the police will give the victims that info so they can take the next step in getting justice as far as the animal abuse is concerned.
Its a sad day and age when you have to seriously think about installing surveillance cameras so that your dog doesn't get poisoned or you don't get hate slurs sprawled across the walls of your own home. However, I do think cameras would be of a great use to these gentlemen, possibly others in the 'hood as well. I am betting anything the perps live within 4 houses within the victim's.

BTW I did mean it when I wrote -victim's- possessive not plural as in the perps likely live w/in four houses of the victim's home. And that is for all you grammar nazis out there!

Taggers are douchebags? Who knew?

Speaking of which, self-identified douchebags can get discounts on hotels in Vegas:
