To me, the only real Star Trek was the original series. If you are going out into space for five years, the only way to do it is with the women in mini skirts and the men in pants without pockets.

The Top 10 Technobabble video had about 15 second of funny in it, total, and yet I watched the whole thing.

The third best technobabble should definitely have been number one because that was the one where Riker was making stuff up to confuse the Ferengi who had captured the ship , in a sort of meta-technobabble. I suppose it's really bad that I can identify the episode as the one in which Picard, Guinan, Ro, and Keiko O'Brian were turned into children.

Where DID these ladies find bra-less supports to maintain that perfect early-60s torpedo shape??

My son and I really loved the new Star Trek movie.

Tons of fan service and excellent casting, plus a cool redo that is believable and would allow a fascinating new series to show up on TV as well.

My fave was a toss up between Uhura and Scotty.

@7 - Carefully placed duct tape. Seriously. I watched a special about it a long time ago. That's also how they kept actresses...endowments from flopping to the side when they laid down in all those 60's movies.

Yes, that is indeed the same actor who played Lurch as the android "Ruk".

Um, it's clearly going to suck. Didn't you see that part where he's a kid and he jumps out of the car that goes off the cliff?

Plus the rest of the drama looks like Dawson's Creek in space.

I saw the movie last week expecting to hate it and it knocked my socks off. Fucking loved it. They completely did the original justice and set themselves up brilliantly to go where no Star Trek has gone before, but with the original characters.

I predict Paul will return from the theater with stories of pissing/creaming his pants with excitement, then bitch a bit about it's Hollywood-ness and almost off-the-mark nods and winks to the original. But he'll love it, and will gush all over your monitor telling you so.

I saw it at a preview SIFF screening a couple weeks ago, and I loved it. Yes, it has some ridiculous parts, especially at the beginning like @11 said, but it really is an awesome film. Way better than I expected, and it's not really the type of film I usually like. I think Trekkies and non-Trekkies alike will love it.

COMTE 16
What? No Leslie Parrish? No Yvonne Craig?

With the exception of Barbara Eden in "I Dream Of Jeannie", TOS had the hottest babe-action in all of 1960's TV, and a lot of the credit for that rightfully goes to Costume Designer William Ware Theiss, who, over the course of the series developed his own "theory of titillation" (from Stephen E. Whitfield's still-marvelous 1968 tome The Making Of 'Star Trek'):

"the degree to which a costume is considered sexy is directly dependent on how accident-prone it appears to be...if it looks as if it might suddenly slip and something is in danger of accidental disclosure, then it suddenly becomes terribly titillating and sexy."

Truer words were seldom spoke.

This movie is getting insanely great reviews at rottentomatoes. I fear that my expectations how now been set far higher than any mere movie can achieve. If the movie doesn't actually massage my prostate, it's going to be a letdown.

I stopped trusting rottentomatoes after Hellboy II.

Supreme Ruler Of The Universe 19
I'm watching Season Two of "Star Trek:Enterprise".

Boy, that was a really good, but neglected series and a lot closer to the spirit of the original than the long-winded "Next Gen" or the hapless "Voyager" (alright, you know where I'm coming from, so why not say it...or the static "Deep Space Nine").
