Like I wrote for the New York Times last week, Miss CA is gonna be dining out on this for the rest of her life:
Miss California, Carrie Prejean, who offered memorable opposition (above) to same-sex marriage and a young, attractive new face for the movement against it, will appear tomorrow at a press conference hosted by the National Organization for Marriage at the National Press Club, according to a press release from the group. She'll be launching a new ad, the second in what the group says is a $1.5 million campaign.
NOM claims that Miss CA was "attacked viciously" for speaking her mind. Uh-huh. A nasty queen called Miss CA a name and America's new Anita Bryant is going to be raking in the big bucks for years to come as a result. The book deal is coming, along with the speaking gigs at fundy churches. We should all be so lucky as to be so viciously attacked. Oh, and by getting involved in a political campaign—if she's personally involved, and not just being held up as a shining example of Christian martyrdom by NOM—Miss CA risks being stripped of her state crown, which will, of course, be held up as yet more evidence of that Miss CA is a persecuted Christian martyr.
