"I'm sure he'll recognize the taste of a good meal, wouldn't you say?"

Posted by Paul Constant on Tue, Apr 28, 2009 at 5:16 PM

Here is a team of real life superheroes in Cincinnati, led by someone called Shadow Hare:

A year ago, I wrote about Salt Lake City superheroes The Black Monday Society for SLC Weekly. And even though I've written about them once, I'm still fascinated by the RLS community. Also, I have to note that Seattle still hasn't produced a team of Real Life Superheroes. Get on the stick, Seattle! We're not going to be a world class city without our very own team of heroes. Portland has one, fercrissakes.

I want to do this, but I don't have the time. This would be Mad effin' Rad. My superhero name... Exiter. You may not notice me entering the room, but everyone will love to watch me leave!

They probably beat up gays having sex in parks.

Do you really need to say "Allegiance assemble!" when you're already all together?

Seattle can live without Real Life Superheroes. In fact, we already are cursed with the fucking Sea Fair Pirates.

As the Imperator of the League of Fabulous Gentlemen, I promise that when assembled, we will fight this pirate scourge, @7.

You know, I suppose I'd rather have borderline autistic kids walking the streets ineffectually fighting crime than sitting on every single site on the internet calling each other faggots.

Who analyzes the allegiance?

It looks like there are three active in and around Seattle, according to the RLS site. Mr. Raven Blade, The Dreamer and The Black Knight. So, y'know, if you see any of them lurking around your garbage cans at 3 am, uh, I guess don't call the cops? Do call the cops? I'm really not sure on protocol here.

I watched the Watchmen.

This doesn't end well.

I wonder if we'll get to see a guy with a Dr. Manhattan-style costume get tased by the police for not putting his clothes back on?

My super power is that I can change red light to green lights by staring at them. It takes some longer than others.

if seattle produces some douchebag hero and he comes to the central district, west seattle, aurora or the south end, he gets pwned by a cap in his ass.

From July 4th, 2008 until July 18th, 2009 I was the real-life superhero known as Black Knight who publicly patrolled Seattle with Dreamer (who moved out of state), Mr. Raven Blade, and White Baron.
With Zetaman of Portland (mentioned above), our group raised money for charities, and performed safety patrols in Seattle and Portland. When I was active, I patrolled Downtown, Int'l District, Belltown, parts of SoDo, the Waterfront, and mostly Pioneer Square.
For the most part, people were friendly to me. I had a couple of run-ins with Seattle Police, most notably in June when I began to wear a bulletproof vest.
For more information, you may contact Zetaman who still does a lot of charity work in Portland, or Mr. Raven Blade.
