The Craigslist Killer—the alleged Craigslist Killer—was apparently trawling the site for gay men and transsexuals too.

There's no proof that the asshole slept with men and the police speculate that he may have been robbing men... but we'll soon be treated to a press release from the American Family Association blaming these crimes on the gay lifestyle. And you gotta love the reporter stating that this latest development—the news that the killer had exchanged emails with gay men—is going to be "very tough for this fiancé to hear." Tougher than the news that her fiancé was robbing and murdering women?

eh - robbing someone who's gay probably doesn't mean you are gay. i mean, i know the reporter is being a bit of an idiot -- but it seems nothing sexual happened with any of the victims.

Let me state the obvious: he's a marginally attractive adult male, so going after women and gay men is easy. By all accounts, those he robbed he just robbed right out. No sexual pretext, he just robbed them when he got them alone.

Women and gay men, quick to jump at a generally attractive man? Oh gee, sounds like he gamed the system and people want to turn this into an issue.

Isn't this the same Craigslist that Dan touts as being really good for people who are looking for sex? Safe and stuff?

baconcat - i'm not sure him being reasonably attractive had much to do with it; he was contacting prostitutes. but i'm sure his relatively harmless bordering on professional appearance made it easier for his victims to trust him.
