Mayor... Drago?

Posted by on Wed, Apr 22, 2009 at 10:52 AM

Reports David Brewster on Crosscut:

"I never, ever said I was retiring," says Seattle City Councilmember Jan Drago, who is retiring from her City Council seat this year, but apparently still longs for staying in the thick of the action. Among the options she says she's exploring, though "I've just begun to think about it," is challenging Mayor Greg Nickels this fall.

Unless I'm reading the transcript wrong, aren't those Beck's words, not Drago's?

Your transcript indicates that those words are Beck's not Drago's.

Nickels is a steamroller. He's as beatable as Obama is in 2012. Meaning unbeatable.

Nickles is the Daley of Seattle.

If she changes her name to Dragojevich and gets her hair done like Blago, I'll vote for her.

Drago is good and true to the gays so she would have my vote.

And so the wolves begin to circle.

Will Greg ever escape?

Drago is an arrogant backstabbing bitch. Don't kid yourself about her being better for this city unless you are white, upper middle class and part of the downtown cabal.

Quick, Jan Drago's accompishments:

1. Not Greg Nickels.
2. Loves downtown business interests and vulcan, check.
3. Dog leash parks.
4. Is female.

Having sworn not to vote for Nickels, there is no way I'd vote for Drago, either.

All the snide comments - just who is Mr. or Mrs. Perfect to challenge Nickels at this point?

Drago ran as small business owner and downtown advocate, never conned anyone. She is totally pro gay - from the beginning. She has brokered more than one deal on the council, keen on mass transit, would love to see Seattle screw Metro, and on and on .... and ... as someone else said, she can beat him.

Or, keep pouting and whining.

She's also done a lot wrong -- it could be easily argued that she's in the pocket of developers which could almost be justified during better economic times, but now just seems unseemly.

The article on Crosscut also says she might fo work for Vulcan -- this would make a lot more sense, I think.

Jan Drago should support search and rescue. That means she should GET LOST!

I hope she runs anyway. Nickels will use her for a floor mop.

Drago would kick ass. She is compassionate, pragmatic and approaches tough decisions with reason.
